check engine light

my wifes check engine light came on today at 76,000 miles along with an inspection message that comes on in the display? any idea what it typically is?

no such thing as typical..

Inspection light? Never heard of that. Find a local independant to scan your car's computer to get the reason. You can find a local indy by askig on the web forum of Audi WOrld that is near your home state.
