If the orange "check engine" light on, something is wrong.

A bunch of stuff can turn on that light. It's all generally minor (and you're in warranty) if the light is on steady. If the light blinks then you need to IMMEDIATELY go to a dealer. But in your case, at the next service interval is fine.

Default check engine light typically signifies issues related to pollution and exhaust

I remember reading this somewhere. apparently, car manufacturers figured out that if they had a light that stated - sorry, your car is failing to meet current emission standards, nobody was going to drop everything and bring the car in for service. Hence, the check engine designation. I bet it is nothing serious, and would wait for your scheduled visit this week. By the way, I have same car make and model, and have had this happen a few times (always in cold weather) and they always order some menial part or valve that takes a week to get in, yet they let me keep driving it.
