So, It keeps appearing that the oil is well over 'max'. When i dry off the dipstick. Dip it in, and pull it out. The oil is ABOVE the max level. However i have a low oil light on my dash. The 'service' then it flashes the oil light once.
I bought a few carts of oil and planned to fill her up.
Do i probably need an oil change?

check the oil pump. Changing the oil won't fix the problem...(unless the oil is seriously old and thick as molassas)

until you are rid of the excess. I'd guess it takes 15 minutes or so from a cold engine to low oil pressure indication.

Oil level sending unit failure seemed to be a popular problem with early 21st century 2.7t engines. I'd trust the dipstick and be sure not to let the oil level go above the 'full' line on the dipstick. The 2.7t is sensitive to oil overfill with blown seals as a result.
