I have a 2000 A6 2.7T, manual (86k miles). I recently purchased a used APR chip. It has stock, 91 octane, and valet.
I have only had it for about 600 miles. Initially, the 91 octane was much faster than stock. Shortly after purchasing it, my waterpump failed and I had the complete timinig belt job done. That was about 300 miles ago. The car runs great under normal driving conditions. However, now under WOT, the car hesitates at 4000 rpms and above.
I did another throttle body adaption and it still occurs.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong?
Thanks

put in a set of OEM Bosch and the hesitation/skip went away. Only happened under heavy acceleration with the GIAC chip. No CEL was ever thrown.

Mine is a 2001 and I got the APR chip in 2004. It sometimes hesitates at around that rpm but not always. I usually notice it in 2nd gear at WOT starting in the 2k rpm range. It's an annoyance I deal with but if it's fixable I'd like to know too.

Under normal load, it is fine, then under heavy load, the tear then opens. ONly way to tell is to remove the TBB and closely inspect it, especially the under side.

It seems boost leak vs. no boost leak is the first diagnostic for me. If I have a boost leak, it may be the TBB or I just had the TB replaced...maybe the didn't put a hose back together correctly??
