Default Cigaratte lighters

Hi all!

It's not like I want to incourage smoking in my car, but cigarette lighters (both front and back ones) are not working (someting I just noticed by trying to hook up a telephone adapter - there is no voltage). And also I think it worked before...
Is it fuses issue? If yes is it explained in the user guide how to get to fuses?

Thanks a lot

Default ARRGGGHHH!! Read the owners manual!! But--->

your fuse panel is on the left side of the dash, facing the drivers side door. You must open your door to see the panel (on the end of the dash) Use a small, flat-bladed screwdriver to open it (please use a small, thin rag so you don't scratch the panel)
The fuse box is the best place to start.

Sorry for not following the RTFM policy ;-).
But yep! That was the fuse. It got me worried a little bit.
1. The car is 1 month old
2. If some important fuse goes... for example "engine timing" (not sure what that means, but sounds important :-)), am I going to find out the hard way too? When I was running low on windshield washing fluid, I was promptly notified, but now one of the circuits is dead and...
3. It says in the manual that there are 2 extra fuses, but none of them was 15 amps, and the one for 10 amps is different size. :-(

Cheers

Default Don't worry, fortunately a blown fuse for the lighter likely implies little about "important" one...

If it blows again, I would have it looked at. May be some electrical glitch somewhere. Although you can get a "bad" fuse, it's uncommon. It's not the fuses' fault it blew, it did its job, now it must be laid to rest. More concerning would be the electrical malfunction that causes the blown fuse or did it happen after plugging in some accessory (radar detector, etc)?
Where the hell do you live using up all your washer fluid in one month? You must love the smell of isopropyl alcohol
RTFM I'm just as guilty
Good luck, hope it doesn't blow again.

Default I wish my washer fluid would last a month

with the winter/spring road spray in MN. Seems like I have to refill the washer fluid as often as the fuel tank... ;-)

Default On some model years, if you turned on the rear window switch lock-out

the rear power outlet would turn off.

You could go to the auto parts store and buy a nice kit full of fuses and a puller/tester.Good stuff
