I have a 2000 Audi A6 2.8 Quattro with 230,000 on it..
In the front end on the driver side when I hit the breaks (right after the front nose dives after hitting the break) ( whether or not im driving fast or slow or I hit the breaks hard or soft)under breaking I hear a click.. I can feel the click in the break pedal.. It has breaks with less than 5K - 7K miles on them.. and both front arms have been replaced.. Any suggestions.. Mike

by brake light switch JustMe is referring to the normally on switch under the brake pedal. The brake pedal holds the switch open until you step on the brake pedal which then allows the switch to close and turns on the brake lights. Most brake switches are set up this way so the brake switch doesn't interfere with pedal operation.
Sometimes the switch becomes loose and maladjusted but (see above) that usually results in an always on brake light but I guess it could also go the other way...a loose locking nut on the switch would also allow the switch to move back and forth and click.
Due to the way you wrote the symptoms up, I'm still inclined to think something is loose down by the brakes.
