When I have the climate control set to 70°F on one side and 68°F on the other side, what sensors are being monitored by the system to control the fan/heat/compressor settings? Are there sensors in the cabin, or near a return air area?
Thanks for any info.

There are sensors all over inside that car for the climate control. If you can imgaine a sensor needed, there is a sensor there.
There's sun intensity sensors, interior temp sensors, duct air sensors, flow sensors, outside temp sensores. You name it, the car is checking it.
