Default clunk noise when braking

as above, there is a single clunk noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side front (?) under braking.

it doesnt happen all the time...

ive had the mot guy take a look but he cant see anything 'wrong'.

any ideas gratefully received!

Could be brake pads moving around in caliper or most likely one or more Upper Control Arm ball joints.

Ditto on the control arms, though I have also had a wheel bearing fail that gave no other symptom other than a clunk when braking for awhile - yup, there was that much play.

RFW bearing 2K4.2A6, noisy, but no clunk. Had it up on jackstands to identify the noise (easy)…dealer couldn't find it…don't think the dealer even put it up on the body lift (not wheel lift at mine) and ran it to check. It didn't do the noisy on one side turn drill either.

i would say a control arm or sway bar bushing. the weight is shifting undder load. Also check your springs on the front struts and make sure they are not broken..
