Default cold air intake

Has anyone added a cold air intake to their c5 A6? Is it worth it or should I stick with the stock setup? I know its 5 horsepower at most but I enjoy the sound of it at high rpms.

Default It is an AUDI not a (honda) rice burner! I would advise to leave the "air intake" alone.

It was designed a specific way for a reason. For peak engine performance.

Then again, it's your care do what you want.

Default peak engine performance? highly doubt it

More like a well thought-out compromise between performance and NVH, gas consumption, reliability in all types of weather, long-term durability, etc. If an individual is willing to give up something in one of these areas then perhaps there's some performance gain to be found. Do you think Audi's only goal was peak performance when they released the 2.7T? Apparently not considering you can get 50HP from a $600 ECU upgrade. I'm not saying an intake is going to make a difference -- and it doesn't sound like the OP expects it to make a world of difference either -- but let's not rule it out based on the incorrect assumption that Audi has maxed out the engine.

Default Leave it alone...I have read about possible MAF sensor failures with various 'oiled'

intakes like K&N just to name one.

Default Quite frankly it seems you have no idea. Performance is very low on the list,

When it comes to the A6 as the other poster said, weather, noise ect. THose things are what the manufacturer cares about. The one thing I can assure you Audi has never over engineered anything I've seen. What do I know! I am just some domb white guy trying to make a living.
