here's the paint pen photo, but if you plan on doing a larger surface, like a spoiler, take it to a paint shop. the dealer will not sell a spray can.

Default This is what makes me worry...

I got the touchup paint from Audi already by giving them my VIN #, and the touch up paint they give me is labeled with Light Silver Metallic (vs yours said Alum Silver Metallic), I have to check later today to see what the exact color code is typed on the touchup pen. But it looks similar to ????/LSTY7M I have to check. But why the color text different??

I worry that your car's color is different from mine. But mine is 2000 Audi A6 4.2L Quattro... (manufacture in 10/99).

Any thoughts on that?

Default Same month and year as mine, 2000 a6 4.2. The touch up nomenclature

is most likely a different batch of the same color. Check your dealer.

Default UPDATE: About the touch up pen....

I just go home and take a look at the touch up pen I got for my 4.2 A6.
The number & text on my touch up pen is:
107778 / LSTY7W
Light Silver Metallic
061308

While your pic shows
107724 / LSTY7M
Alum Silver Metallic
070907

Sorry if I am being stupid or paranoid, but I just worry alot that my car's color might be different from your car... and you said your color code is LY7W. I will give the dealer a call right now and see if hey have any clue.
What you think?

Default Dealer confirmed.

LY7W is my color code. So I guess somehow Audi make two different color of silver under the same month and year manufacture date under the same model and type... weird..
