Default Condensation inside headlamp plastic cover

Noticed condensation inside the right side headlamp. Opened the hood and noticed the two metal clips which are used to hold the plastic cover to the metal base plate were gone. The plastic cover started to come out a little bit. Could that be the reason how the mositure get it? Because the seal is broken? Where can I buy the missing metal clips and how do I remove the plastic cover to clean out the mositure? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Default I would say that is the reason it has condensation in it ...

Clips appear to be available individually from main dealer if not a wrecker that has a crunched headlight should still have the clips in place but i find it odd that both of yours are missing ! ! ! As for the condensation , if its not too bad when you get new clips it should dry out quite quickly

The reason why both clip came out because last winter I had a minor impact from that side of the car to the rear bumper of a SUV. Strange, I alway thought the headlight assembly is a seal unit by itsel?

How do I remove the cover to clean out the moisture?

You don't need to, just turn your lights on for a while and they'll dry up.

OK then. All I have to do is to reclip the cover, right? Thanks all the help!

There is a TSB on this. The housings are vented and will dry out on their own.
