The control arm saga continues........
So as I posted a few months ago, I replaced 3 left front control arms and left tie rod end. The creaking noise went away for exactly 1 month, and then returned, this time on the right side. Today I had 3 control arms and the tie rod end on the right replaced. (The tie rod end was ok, but I figured it would fail soon and I didn't want to pay for ANOTHER alignment).
Moral of the story.....when the one side fails, the other is probably close, and to avoid paying for additional alignments, just fix both sides at the same time.
Second lesson....Audi should should issue a recall on the front suspension as these things should not be failing as often as they appear to
(A few people each week report creaking noises), especially at 50k miles or less.
