pedal box, and custom programmed engine ECU (European one won't talk to the rest of the car like it should). Parts, labour, and programming probably cost in $8K to $10K range if you want it to be fully integrated like a factory install, and without glitches. Expect to give up the car for several months as the people doing the conversion sort through the glitches that always pop up in these kinds of majpr conversions (very complex car with lots of interelated parts).

but I couldn't find any shops that I felt confident were capable of performing this work without screwing my car up. The thing that worries me the most is the ECU work. I think bolting up all the parts is likely not a big deal for an experienced Audi mechanic, but getting all the software to work correctly would be the big deal. Then there's the issue of getting your car diagnosed and repaired when there is a problem... That also worries me.
If you find any good information on this, I'd be very interested in hearing about it.

The biggest hurdle would have been the logic systems. We would have had a sweet '99 2.7T 6speed Avant, but then I told him about allroads. :P
