Well, the wife found a leak yesterday. We are planning a 1,000 mile road trip this weekend, her car was sitting on the driveway when she noticed some pink fluid on the garage floor. Hmmm, looks like tranny fluid with the consistency of coolant. Look on driveway under car, yep a puddle there. Got out the ramps and put the car on them, dropped pan.
Coolant lines going into and out of at the oil filter mount are both leaking. Ugh, this is not good.
So, this morning beginning at 7:30am I start callign dealers to see who can get me in on short notice. Called McDonald Audi, if I can be there by 4:30, they can have me back out by close at 8pm, if my diagnoses is correct. Called Prestige Imports, well if I can bring it in and leave it, they will have it back to me Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, completely unacceptable. Called Stammler, he can get me in Weds. afternoon. Called several indy's, 90 minute job to replace and top off cooling system, P&L $ 160.00 (average).
Called McDonald back, put me on the list. I arrived at 3pm, was out the door at 4:50pm. They squeezed me around two appt's that were drop offs. Gotta give props to them as the repair took 95 minutes, included a free oil change because they had to replace the filter while they were at it, and a topping of all fluids and a car wash. They also found that I have a CV tearing, they noted on the computer for that to be replaced in 3 weeks when the car goes in for 50K service.
