Default Not sure what all the fuss is about, 'Dex' coolant is the same idea as G12...>

It's not recommended by entities with a vested interest in G12. I don't recommend Dex because you may tell audi you are using Dex and then your warranty will be voided out. I have ran Dex on VW's (1.8t engine) that "REQUIRED" G12 and had no probs w/over 150K (even mixed them, whooo!). Don't be confused, the green stuff is NOT ok to mix. Bad, Bad things happen. So go get ripped off and buy G12 from the dealer...OR

You can also use "Pentosin G 001 200 lifetime" coolant (Pentosin is the OEM supplier to VW/Audi). Pentosin products can be found at many auto parts stores that specialize in German imports. This is safer and cost wise is in between G12 and Dex if bought at your local euro shop. (Won't void a warranty either)

Thank you, drive through.

Default Interesting

I've noticed that the coolant warning only appears during the cold mornings. Yesterday, LATE AFTERNOON (stuck at work), it was 70 degF in Needham and the warning did not appear. How can THAT be?

Either way, I'll be bringing it through Shine Racing Service so they can have a look at the system. I don't see any leaks.
