Default CT/NY Audi Group Meet/Cruise/Picnic this Sunday, 7/1 in Connecticut...

Always check the News & Events forum for the latest info on this event (plus the info is easier to find since the forum moves slower)

CT/NY Audi Group's Cruise around Candlewood Lake & Picnic
Meeting location: Danbury High School, Danbury, CT
Meeting time: 9:30AM, Sunday July 1st
Picnic location: Squantz Pond, New Fairfield, CT
Picnic time: ~11:30-2:00
More info: http://ctny.audiworld.com/events -> 7/1 Cruise

There is a sign up sheet on the website as well. If you will be joining us,
please add yourself to the list. Here's the direct link: Sign Up Sheet

There is also a map on the CT/NY site that shows our approx route. Detailed
maps/directions will be handed out at the High School that morning.

On Sunday, 7/1, the CT/NY Audi Group will be having a Cruise around
Candlewood Lake, ending at Squantz Pond where we will have a picnic. We
will meet at 9:30AM at Danbury High School. Directions for the route will
be handed out at that time. Promptly at 9:45AM we will depart on our route
which will travel the outskirts of Candlewood Lake through Danbury,
Brookfield, New Milford, Sherman, and finally New Fairfield. We will arrive
at Squantz Pond at approx 11:30AM where we will meet up with members of
http://www.germanperformancegroup.com . Their group is having a cruise from
the Hartford area to meet up with us for lunch. We will have a "bring your
own" picnic lunch at that point (BBQ Grills are available for those that
would like to cook up something). Alcohol is not allowed in the park; not
that I expect anyone to bring any to a driving event. The directions that
will be handed out will include directions back to I-84, so people can leave
the park at their leisure.

Without stops, it looks like the drive will be ~80 mins over 40 miles. Most
of these roads are scenic curvy backroads. Some are more traveled. Last week
I drove the route and took time and distance markers at every turn. This
will be a leisurely drive, with speed limits ranging from 25 to 45.

Hope to see you there,
Mark

Default As would be expected, MarkP has a detailed and thorough briefing in the post. Hope all have a good

time. My Tercel will not be making the trip. Just fyi, are you selling the saturn after the new Audi arrives? How much? I know of a person looking. Let me know.

Default Hey Brian, how have you been? Will you be at the NE event?

When the S4 gets here, I plan to put the Saturn in the paper for $3950. It's a '94 and will have ~83k miles on it. I'm getting 31.2mpg. Realistically, I expect to be haggled down a little on that price into the $3650 range. When I was looking for a car, I found that the same car with 130k+ miles were going for about the same amount.

Tercel? I hope you're talking about a 2nd car - the A6 is still alive, right??

Default Hi Mark, oooohhh if you only knew the whole ridiculous fiasco the last year has been . . .

I am driving a Tercel because my A6 was used as target practice by an AA flight attendant. Pushed me underneath a Jeep Cherokee. You can figure the rest. Many thousands later (and two months two days) and I "may" get my car back tomorrow.

Now, in addition to that nice diversion of time, money, and mental energy I have been virtually begging IRA Audi to fix multiple problems in my car (in addition to fuel senders, radio, vibrations, all common) and they have keep taking my car in and giving it back to me with a note saying "we ordered parts." This has literally been the routine an average of every 45 days since last year.

As you know, I am probably one of the most staid, unassuming, and patient people you may even encounter. So, I continued to be positive and wrote a letter to Rick Scourtas the GM informing him that I would be willing to work together to solve the problems. Well, basically that gave IRA all the confidence they needed to virtually ignore me completely.

To add insult to injury, they scratched my car the last time it was in for service. The IRA Audi Sales Staff is top shelf, a few of the service people are top shelf, the body shop is top shelf, and the rest are akin to bacteria feeding on weakened DNA. In lay terms, they completely suck.

I am so disappointed with IRA, especially since I have directly contributed approximately $400K in sales via referral (before the best sales people quit or were "let go.") I will probably be at the show but let's just say it will low profile due to the acrimonious nature of our current relationship. I don't take it personally and I still communicate with certain people at the dealership. I have talked to Dave L and to Vijay through Dave.

More info than you needed but thats the story. I hope to have some form of an Audi by the event date. There will be some great giveaway items.

Take Care,

Brian
