I was looking for someone who can perform the center dash display (losing lines issue) repair? I did not want to ship the dash to the US, I was hoping to find someone near home (Toronto) that can either perform the repair onsite at my house or where I can remove the dash myself and bring it into a local shop.

Paul does awesome work! Had him replace my LCD with an OEM last year, took about a week including shipping to and from Vancouver. In your case it should be a day as long as you can leave the car with him.

I see that Paul requires the dash be removed and re-installed. Is there any good pictures or description on removing the dash from a 2000 A6 4.2? I've done it before on an A4, I remember it was quite easy. But I had a good set of instructions with photo's.

It isn't really a dash per se. It's a dash cover over a beam. Assuming you want to remove the dash cover, Bentley is the best bet. Expect to spend about 2 - 3 hours.
Why is this that complicated on the 4.2? On the 2.8 and 2.7 you can just pull out the cluster without even removing the steering wheel.

It's exactly the same process with the 4.2L, no need to remove the dash. Fully extend and lower the steering column, pop off the cover directly over steering column, remove screws, pull out and disconnect cluster. Installation is the reverse. The 2000 4.2 does not have an immobilizer so you can drive it without the cluster installed, however if you start the car with the cluster removed you will have a CEL that needs to be cleared.

I have a 2000 A6 4.2 and got mine done by Paul Dec 2009 (live in Barrie). He does great work and is quick. I got all the chrome rings added to mine, looks great! As mentioned above, dash is very easy to remove, lower steering wheel and remove plastic cover and remove two screws. Be sure to get the proper screwdriver as to not strip the heads... I was lucky to have another car to use while Paul was doing it for me. He took a total of 4 hrs to do it (went and did some shopping while he did it).
The LED is still 100%, highly recommend him, he does great work!

Thank you all for your input. Yes, I did mean "Cluster", sorry a poor choice of words saying "dash". Thanks again everyone!
BTW, the 4.2 is such a beautiful car... a dream to drive, subtle power, sweet handling, luxury at its best... love the lines of the body and the muscular wheel flares! OMG, it is incredible.
