Default Dead A6

I'm a bit rusty when it comes to the A6. It sat for nearly a month, I fired it up and drove it a bit to reposition it in the driveway. A few days later I was going to drive it and it won't start. My first thought was it's just jealous because I picked up a 2006 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited and immediately put an AEV 4.5" lift in it and have been driving that Anyway, she cranks but will not fire. I've VagComed it and I get not faults. Well I did but I replaced the central lock module and that seems to be happy. When I try to get into the 3 engine measuring blocks I get a 'no communication' error. Other blocks are no problem.
Is this a death knell for the ecu or are there any relays to check. The fuses are in tact.
Thanks!

ECU's don't fail. Look elsewhere.

No, nothing indicating a problem outside of the no start. Full Vag scan brings up nothing. I had an issue with the central lock module but that has been replaced and according to Vag is operational.

I would you check couple things:
1. If fuel gets to engine could be fuel pump
2. ignition failure - could be coil pack module failure
3. check battery voltage

Yeah, I need to look at the basics... fuel and spark then go from there.

My first 2 thoughts:

1. ignition switch, which can cause this anytime
2. because you just started the car, adn shut it down cold, you could be flooded. That's a normal circumstance for a car started, run a moment ( with fuel enrichment in process) and then shut down, cold. Crank, crank, crank with foot to floor. Or pull plugs and fuel pump fuse and crank.

Now, the real asnwer is "do your homework" - are you getting gas and spark? Yes? in the right proportion? 9harder to answer). Proceed.

Well, it was brought up to temperature when last started. The central locking module 'thought' it had been in a crash along with numerous other issues. That has been made good.
What concerns me is the 'no communication' with the engine test blocks in Vag. First thing I'll do when I have the time is see if the ecu is actually getting power and go from there.

Is the ecu powered via a relay or straight through the ignition switch?

i don't know, but i have seen ECUs go "dead" and the fix was the switch. Note: C4

that's a typical timing belt symptom.
Hope not!
