Dealer performed unathorized work
Took my car in for the JC recall today. On the way to the dealership the CEL came on. Asked them to check and advise. 4 hours later I get a call from shop that the car is ready and the vacume lines had to be replaced. Cost was $227.00. When I picked the car up I told them that I was dissapointed that no one had called for authorization of the work. No response from my customer service rep. I will return the favor when they call with their customer satifaction survey. It's not the money, its the attitude that bothers me. Should I just let it go?

Why did you pay?? Probably just a vacuum hose that...
slipped off that didn't need to be replaced in the first place or, if it did, you could have done yourself in 5 minutes. I would have refused to pay.

no...thats like going in for surgery and having them say we replaced your kidney...it was no good
id be pissed...it should have been your right do shop around or diy if thats what you intended
