How far away from an an Audi dealer (for warranty service, etc.) would you be willing live before you decided simply to figure out another brand to buy? (For reference, I'm about 65 miles from mine, and I can deal with that.)

I guess this would depend on the alternatives to some extent, so assume that there's everything else but Audis available locally. HPH

My nearest dealer is 6.1 and I loathe them. I will only go to them for PA inspection. I drive to Cleveland (Stoddard Audi, P-Car)and have a great relationship with my dealer. I have a pick up and drop off arrangement with an Audi loaner (written in sales agreement) to my house.

If the relationship ever goes sour, there is another good dealer a little further away. If all of this changed, I'd have to suck it up and go the the BMW lot. The Audi, Acura, Saab, Mercedes, Caddy dealerships are owned by the same huckster which I will never buy a car from.

drives farther to Oakland Audi (about 28 miles). He said he gets lower repair estimates there.

...what's long and short in this regard? Maybe it should be expressed in time (as opposed to distance) -- in these big square states out here in the west, we can do 150 miles in under two hours, easy.

I'm looking at the possibility of being ~175 miles from the nearest Audi dealer and trying to factor that into my thinking.

I hadn't really thought about the towing thing, though. Hmm. HPH
