Lets say its winter, in a heavy snowfall, and your somewhere in the Appalatian mountains on back roads. You are given the option of 2 cars - both identical Audi A6's. Both have the same amount of gas, and there are gas stations, open, within both cars fuel range.
One car is a front wheel drive A6 equipped with a "dependable gas tank guage". The other is an A6 quattro with the special option "notoriously unreliable, leave you stranded, gas guage"
Which car do you choose to get you home ??

Have they issued the recall? To do a recall, don't that have to have a solution? I hear that they really don't have an answer yet or at least the availability of parts to start the process.

hey did you know that some once went to court and won over a ladder and a pile of manure. saw on one of those famous CBS 60 minutes shows.
seems that if you put a ladder on a frozen pile of manure. on the sunny side of a barn while painting, it will eventually melt and you fall into it. who'd thought. so this is now one of the warning stickers on this ladder company's ladders.
America, waht a country. nothing is ever your fault.
by the way who the hell paints in the winter?<p>Bill

I'll tell you exactly what's wrong with our legal system,(well, mostly)--
1) Everyone is too quick to sue, and plaintiff's lawyers encourage this, because they get rich quick.
2) Jurys go along with this and award terrible sums of money- completely out of line with the actual (if any) damages.
3) 2) breeds 3) and so on ad infinitum.
4) The public doesn't seem to have a clue as to who pays for all this.
The moral is: Ethics and equity are forgotten words.

Yup, got my recall notice today. BUT it noted that parts are not expected until about August 7. I'm just happy they are taking care of it - though it does seem a bit strange to have a recall that you then have to wait for!
