Debris in air box

I just changed the air filter a 99 2.8. I am used to leaves & small bits being sucked into the air box under the filter - but I had over a dozen large acorns.
I can't figure how they got there. Doesn't sound like diesel anymore..

clean it out and check it again in a few days to ensure the critter doen't try to next there again.

No in the garage- but we did have at least one mouse this winter in the garage, never thought he'd get into the air intake. I'll check in few days.

They also like to hang out above the under-hood insulation. They also like to scheiss all over the top of your engine. They also have been known to chew the insulation off electrical wiring.

in the bell housing of my '87 Audi 5000 one winter. That act ended up disabling the clutch. More recently, I found some fiberglass insulation loosely packed in the engine vee of my '96 A6. An airbox would be easy for a little rodent to "store" his/her goods.
