Within the last few months I've seen a significant drop in gas mileage (from 21mpg -> 15mpg). I used to be able to get 350 miles per tank but now only get 250 miles. The spark plugs have not been changed in 50K. There are no alarms that would indicate a problem. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
I have already addressed the following:
-air filter
-tire pressure

Blimey - I'm in the UK with a 2.4 with m/tronic transmission and get 33mpg if I try.....30mpg if I dont.
This is according to the the computer, but I have done 450 miles on a tank and this is on a 2000 with 97k on the clock.
I always though the 2.8 was just close to the 2.4 on fuel consumption ..... maybe not !?
If you're only getting 250 miles out of a full tank then the O2 definately sound suspect - My wife gets 238 out of an old Jeep Cherokee 4ltr with a smalley gas tank then the A6.....and I thought that was bad!
