Hi,
Car is 2001 A6 2.7T.
I moved to Canada from the US and when I (or the local Audi dealer) recoded my Instrument Cluster from 02264 to 02364 the date/clock section of the cluster gets messed up (I get a palm-tree or radio tower showing up and a messed up date).
BTW, even when I re-coded this cluster for Germany the problem is also there - and I am positive that I re-coded my original cluster for Germany (the language adaption channel too) and all was fine.
This is a new (re-manufactured) cluster that was just replaced and re-coded (for mileage) when in the US under my extended warranty.
Anyone willing to recode their US cluster to see if this is a problem with the US cluster?
If this is a problem with the US cluster I will get Audi to replace it with a new cluster for Canada (which would also come with miles/km switched on the speedometer).
Thank you in advance,
/dan

full code is 03283. I would love to help, but I do not want to experiment for fear of trashing my brand new instrument cluster.
Not sure what the "03xxx" is for...maybe try that???

I bet the "03" at the beginning of your coding means that you have a large 82 litre gas tank (22US gallons) and have the seat belt warning system enabled [my coding is "02" - small tank here].
I bet the 3rd digit being a 2 is for US and that switching it to a 3 would mean Canada just like my coding.
The last digits being "83" more than likely follow the same coding chart that I have... 8 for 8 cylinders, and 4 meaning V8 engine.
Coding can always be redone you just need to write down the original number. My cluster works fine in the US, it is only in "Canada" mode or "Germany" mode where it looks funny.
I understand if you don't want to take the risk - remember that I'm the guy that tried every code to figure out the transmission ECU coding so my risk tolerance is higher than most ;-).

Just want to add my 2002 cali model allroad has the same bug. I believe it's the original cluster.
Rather than live with the goofy date setup since I use that more than the KM in the odo, I chose to put it back to USA(2).
All other options seemed to want to give me palm trees anyway. I'm actually surprised the KAN coding does that...
