Default Direct injection and FSI

Contrary to what I said about direct injection and FSI a month or two ago, Audi will most likely find a way to use 5V per cylinder instead of 4V per cylinder. Why? Because it is an Audi trademark and a very strong selling point for them. Audi knows sales would take a huge nosedive if they abandoned their 5V per cylinder technology no matter what the reason. Audi's 5V per cylinder technology is one of the the best things about Audi in general and Audi engines in particular. Of course using 5V per cylinder technology with direct injection and FSI would make for a small increase in size and weight as opposed to using 4V per cylinder. However direct injection and FSI would still be smaller and lighter than the ignition and fuel injection systems Audi currently uses in their engines. The increase in horsepower, torque and fuel economy would be the same or a little greater using five valves instead of four with direct injection and FSI. Either way reliability and durability would still be the same as the other Germans. ULEV status would also be somewhat easier to achieve with all engines from the 3.2L V6 to the all new 6L W12 and the engines in between (4.2L V8 and all new 5L V10). According to my step Uncle Bobby the more valves in each cylinder the cleaner the engine will run.
