Default It's very tricky!

I tried this on my A4. I washed it in 90% isopropanol. Put it in a large zip lock, added the alcohol, and shook away. It didn't work.

Then, I tried a special pen (from Radio Shack) to clean electronic components, and I managed to rub a little too hard, and broke one of the two wires in the heart of the sensor.

I searched local junk yards, and found a sensor from a wrecked Jetta (compatable with the A4).

So my advice would be to get a new one from the dealer or a reputable seller.

Good luck! Let us know what happens.

Default I read here on the forums to use electronic tuner cleaner. Remove sensor from housing, spray,..

and let dry very thoroughly before re-installing. Electronic tuner spray can be found at Radio Shack or other electronic parts stores.

Default You can try to clean, but it rarely works...sensor wire/plate is very sensitive and

well protected which makes it hard to reach and clean effectively.

Chances are you'll just break it. Doesn't Audi sell rebuilt ones now for a much lower cost?

Default You can search on S4 (B5) forum, but the consensus there is isopropyl alcohol (90% + purity) and

soak it. The lower purity stuff (70%) has too much water, so don't use it. YOu could also try some spray on electronic contact cleaner.

Default you should be a little more respectful you dick

he's right, it is hard and cleaning the MAF rarely works. Usually, the cleaning is insufficient and the sensors rarely work properly anyway. There was a recall for these for a reason...they're fragile and can't be fixed as easily as you think.

Now if you're going to act like this to respected members of this forum you should go f*ck yourself and get away from here.
