Do you think VW will ever come out with an Audi version of the Touareg?
I think it would be an awesome idea to compete with the X5 and Cayenne, and being that Audi owners are definitely the more "outdoorzy" German car buyers, it would make even more sense.
What do you all thing? Am I just behind the times, and they're already working on this?

I believe that the ability to compete with the Cayenne is actually the reason it took so long.
Apparently Porsche and VW combined finances to make the Cayenne/Touareg platform, and as a part of that collaboration, they agreed not to make an Audi version. Whatever the terms, it explains the absence of ANY Audi SUV, which is a shame given that just about every car company has one or more.

That's going to be a pretty bad machine...
Might have to trade in the alpha 6 for a b5-s4 and have the Q7 become the cruiser.

look no further than Audi World for Q7 info...
The Q7 is built on the T-Reg/Cayenne Platform. It will be out in 06/07. The Allroad will be back as the A6 Allroad in mid 06. The q5 will be out in 07-08 as an x3 fighter..built on the A4 plaform.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/news/05/070505b/">Q7</a></li></ul>

I'm not sure I fully understand this relationship with Audi and Porsche?
Did they just share funding / research when developing the Cayenne, obviously with the foresight that Audi would be building the Q7 later?
