Default Does anyone know where this ...

hose is supposed to be connected to?

Yesterday I was working under the car (changing gear oil) and I found this hose close to the front passenger wheel.

Does anyone have any ideas?

My car is a 98.5 A6 2.8 Quattro.

I tried STFA and the Bentley manual with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

98.5???? I thought there was only a 99.5? Looks like a vaccum hose.

Default If I am not mistaken

The 98 is the old style body C4 and the 98.5 is for the new body (well not anymore) C5.

98 A6 avant is C4...1999 A6 avant is C5...1998-2004 sedan is C5. Do you have the wrong forum?

Default I have the C5 A6 Sedan

A6Sport also lists his car as a 98.5 ...

Well it doesn't matter is a C5 A6 Sedan 2.8 30V Quattro

Any ideas where that vacuum hose is supposed to go?, I have replaced all the vacuum hoses on top of the motor, but I don't remember any of them being green

Default Isn't there a sticker with the vacuum layout on inside of the hood?

With VAG, generally the green line goes to a vacuum tank somewhere.

Ted is right - no such beast as a 1998.5.

Default Then I stand corrected... is a 98 A6 Sedan

But then I have a question...

How come when I open Etka and select a 1998 A6 Sedan it opens another window with 2 more options

1. >>4A-W-005 000
2. 4B-W-001 000>>

I really thought it was because there was 2 models made on that year.

Oh well live and learn

Thanks
