Default No steel wheels...won't fit over calipers and rotors...

No need for steel anyway...there are plenty of relatively inexpensive alloy wheels out there that will fit...good luck

Default Well, it may not be cheaper, but not infrequently, someone here or on the S4 forum...

tries to sell their wheels, either stock S4 Avuses(i?)...or something else...
Actually, I am in the midst of purchasing a set of 4 Ronal wheels and snow tires from a guy here for $250/wheel/tire combo, each.
$125/wheel is pretty cheap...I don't think you'll find much cheaper, new...but try ebay...they had some good wheels on there a couple weeks ago.

Default Ronal has some specials going on until the 21st-see Gary's post below or on Wheel and Tire Form.--&g

Even without the special I believe he is selling all 16" wheels for $149--not a bad deal and I think they are better quality than any of the inexpensive Italian wheels at TireRack

Default You are wrong...

Since it was my first winter with my A6 I did not have winter wheel/tire so I shoped for some and I went to a local wheel/tire shop to see if steel wheels would fit on my 4.2 and guess what... they fit perfectly. haha !!! But I finaly decide to do not choose steel wheel because it is really ugly and the Audi Winter pkg is only $2000 CAN wheel, tire and instalation included. see the pic.
See the spec in my sig pic.

Default I've been wrong before...and...

will be again probably once or twice more...but still finding steel wheels for a 4.2 is not worth the hassle since they are "rare" and not much, if any, cheaper than several alloy wheels out there.

People here know enough not to believe anything I type, they just like to see what other stupid thing I'll say next

Default One local tire shop showed me Audi A8 steel rims (decent looking) for about Cdn$950 with Pirelli

tires they ssaid would fit my 02 2.7T. Almost tempted.

In the end I bought Ronal 28 (16") from another local shop with 215/55 R16 93H Pirelli 210 Wintersports for about Cdn$1,550 (less than US$1,000). The R-28s are average looking, but chose it obver R7 and RT. My first choice in Ronals was R-38 but it's not available in 16" size altho it had been advertised in the Ronal website as available in 16" to 18" for A6 (index of cars).

What is needed is a database or catalogue of all wheel makes, styles and sizes that can fit the A6 (for different applications), and ratings on their quality. BMWs seem to have a lot more wheel choices available, I think.

Default A8 has different brakes

They may fit the a8 and not an A6 2.7T. On the other hand you have the new (non-HP2) brakes, so they might fit your '02.
