Default Door Slamming Issue

I've had my 2001 A6 2.7T for a week now and I love it!!! Its very fun to drive and everything but I have a problem. My girlfriend loves to slam the door on my car, she's used to her Ford Explorer and other cars like that. I asked her not to slam the doors but she thinks I'm stupid and it doesn't matter. She said "doors are supposed to be slammed shut." Does anyone know of particular problems that could be caused by slamming doors? I always close my door softly because I really like my new car but I want to give her a concrete reason not to slam the door. I searched the forums on this topic and it seems like other people have had this problem too, but I couldn't find any reasons not to slam the doors other then just being gentile to your car.

Default roll down the passenger side window...then go gather some shattered glass and sprinkle it inside the

car and outside and tell her that her slamming of the doors caused it and she will never do it again! =)

Default not sure if you could rattle anything loose on the Audi door, but my gf's Mercedes lost a tweeter

from her slamming the door..after that she never slammed the door. Or was it the time, she slammed the door on my finger?? hmm..

Default Tell her you don't pretend to tell he about shoes and makeup, and she shouldn't pretend to tell you

how to close a car door.

Default Do you really need a reason to give her? how about

"honey it is MY car and I don't want you slamming the door", let her know she can close the door on her car anyway she pleases.

Default actually there is a serious point there. I call it the "stranger" test

in otehr words - if you asked a stranger to stop slamming your door, they wouold say no problem. If a stranger asked her to stop slamming the door, it would be no problem.

So why is it a problem????

this is a symptom of some otehr issue in the relationship

Default Just introduce her to your friends Heckler and Koch, just kidding....

Your Audi is built very well, and it only requires a very light touch to close its doors and trunk/avant lid. I have issues with all of my golfing buddies who just can't get used to it. Worst case is my Envoy driving husband/wife team--they always slam the doors that leave a sonic boom. On their Envoy, you need a slam to close those doors. Good luck.
