anyone seen a Ebony Pearl Effect A6 2.7T out there...cause as of this moment that is my order color, but I might change it...not sure. I like the blue but sounds like many people have this color already.

thanx

I drove an ebony pearl and loved the look of it. I ordered it and it comes mid November... The Audi mud flaps are a perfect match color wise and it looks so cool with tinted glass. I also ordered the backed out rear tail lights from Hella. EP is an awesome color. I too saw the Blue and still feel the Ebony Pearl is special... Very deep color... I have not seen many like it either... I see a lot of Blue, Green and a lot of silver (my current Audi color). Hope you decide soon... Then you get to drive it sooner...

My A4 was silver and i just felt as if there were too many silver audis or cars rather driving around. Not that there aren't a lot of black cars, but I like to think the Ebony color is a bit different in a special way...=)

Well, looks like you will get your car before I will. I have a Nov. production date car. Good luck!

Default Like all dark colors, it's great when it's clean and scratchless...(more)

...but if you can keep it that way you're a better man than me. Even though I use only 100% cotton, U.S.A.-made towels, I can't keep the tiny hairline scratches from appearing. My guess is that Ebony Pearl will be at least as difficult to keep looking new as my Racing Green. My advice: If you like the look of the color, stick with it. Get a California Water Blade, a good chamois, and plan on using 3M Imperial Hand Glaze when you see the scratches appear.

BTW, what interior did you order?

Default If you're obsessive about....

trying to keep a dark car looking perfect, it will drive you absolutely nuts; especially one with deep German finish. YOU will notice every speck of dust and every micro scratch from buffing; and theres little you can do about it (except prozac). But, if you don't mind a bit of dust....

Default I have ebony pearl

And what everyone's said is true. Beautiful color, but hard to keep clean. You will see rock chips/hairline easier vs. other colors, but when clean, it looks awesome. It's almost a gunmetal black. Had many complements.

I also got the Mélange interior, but if I had to do it all over again, I would get the gray interior over the mélange. Coming from a black interior in my 85 325e, I decided to go light, but I think I've gone too light. The mélange blends well with EP color, and the contrast is great, but the interior is hard to keep clean. I've seen the EP w/Grey interior, and that combo is definitely a winner- something I'll keep in mind for the S6 ;-)

Another suggestion is to look at Cashmere Gray. It's a dark color, but it hides the dirt rather well, and definitely, not too many of those running around.

Hope this helps,
Ernesto

I have it with maroon leather interior. Its absolutely awesome. Get yourself some Zaino's Z5 just in case you ever get a scratch and you'll never worry about it. All other colors are overdone. I see A6's all over the place where I live. I've never-really never-seen an ebony pearl A6 other than at the dealer and in my driveway. Good luck.

Default I've got an ebony pearl with vanilla/onyx interior

My previous audi's were silver, then pearl - both great dirt colors. I thought long and hard before deciding on what is surely one of the highest maintenance exterior/interiors to keep looking good. You will see any minor scratches or dirt. I do think the pearl is a slightly better dirt color than the brilliant black, having seen both side by side at the dealer. That being said, if you don't mind some extra cleaning, the pearl is very rich and unique - you don't see many out there. I'm very happy with it.
