ebony pearl effect A6

Re: ebony pearl effect A6
Stick with the ebony pearl. I have the maroon interior, and it's a stunning combination, IMHO. My dealer was very complimentary on delivery as they had not seen the combination live either. I have seen the EP/melange combination a couple of times (same car?), and it too is very nice, but the contrast between the maroon seats and door panels and the black trim is very elegant and distinctive. And you CAN tell the difference betwen EP and brilliant black. I took delivery in January, Zaino regularly, Lexol the interior, and it still looks great, inside and out. Scratches/swirls not a problem for me; I try to wash once per week. I had the same feelings you do until mine arrived because I had never seen the interior. Now I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good Luck.

I have an 2000 Ebony/Onyx 2.7T and I think its a great combination. I've always had dark colors and enjoy the little extra work to keep them clean because they look so sharp when they are clean. I think the pearl effect gives you a little margin over the brilliant black when it comes to showing dirt and dust.
I've had it since June so it hasn't been through a Seattle winter yet but no scratches so far. I wash once a week, California Water Blade and light towel (100% cotton, no rubbing). I love the Zaino products so far.

Smoked taillights, tint...
Please please please post pictures as soon as you get the taillights installed (once you have your car, that is).
I have a Black A6, and while the smoked sidemarkers are a $25 no-brainer, I want to see the look with the smoked tails before I drop $300 on them. I'm hoping it just looks "sharp" -- want to avoid the "custom" look.
I'm thinking of getting tint for the rear window and rear triangles only. Has anyone done this? How does it look? What about the rear-defrost? Radio reception?

Re: ebony pearl effect A6
I have a volcano black '98, which I think is the same as the ebony, with the maroon leather interior. It's a great and very rare combination. I think I've seen it on one other car. The maroon and black interior is great looking, unusual, and easy to keep clean. I wanted something different - I'm sick of gray and beige interiors. I'm not sure what I'll get when I replace this car with a new A6 next summer. I kind of want the same thing! I'm thinking black/onyx this time.
