Engine coolant high input CEL

I have my 1st CEL on Monday,

code P0118 engine coolant temp circuit high input.

It went off later in the day after I cleaned the connection and topped off the coolant.

Had anyone had a problem here not much in the of archives on this specific problem.

If what you did doesn't fix the problem, next step is to replace the

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.

thats what the guy at autozone said he actually has a 1.8t passat so he kinda knew the deal.

I am giving a few days b/c it was on and off b4.
