I am just getting my 4.2 out the the break in period and have two questions about the tranny.
One - If you are at a dead stop would just leaving it in the auto mode and putting the pedel to the floor be faster to 60 mph than shifting with the tip? Question two -Why, if I am driving in the tip mode in 2 gear at about 1500-2000 RPM and hit the gas does it hesitate for about 1/2 sec at about 2250 rpm before continuing to redline. (I am not sure but I think one time it actually dropped a few hundred rpm before going up to redline. i.e.: 1750 hit gas, pulls strongly to 2250, then hesisates or drops rpm for 1/2 sec and then pulls strongly to redline.) What the heck is going on?

Auto is definetly faster to 60Mph than shifting with Tip. I will try what you say, but I have never experienced this in my 4.2.
