Engine Removal...how many here do this?
I'm curious how many people here do an A6 2.7T engine removal in their own garage? I'm curious because as we all know in order to do any turbo work the entire engine needs to be removed. I would like to know by what method people here remove the engine, either by removing the front clip and taking the engine straight out or crane it out? Also I would gather to install new cats or a cat-back system the engine needs to come out as well?

One thing: you don't need to pull the engine to do turbo (or cat) back exhaust.
You can access the nuts through the wheel wells and by dropping the subframe while hanging the engine from above.

to drop the engine/tranny
you would have to own a lift, right? Or I guess you could maybe just have the car on jackstands and use a floorjack w/ tranny mount to lower the engine and tranny together?
