My A6 brake pads are fine, but the brake warning light keeps coming on. I disconnected the wiring to the pads but this didn't help. Any ideas???

Don't know if you disconnected the brake warning devices and shorted them together, but if you did, then you should clean the contacts

Read about how to do it here....the contacts are probably corroded
