Default EVAP canister and purge valve

I've got the dreaded P0441 (16885) followed by the 17544, 17546, 16688, 16825 and the car won't start after filling up and wife complains about forgetting our address from painters syndrome from the gas fumes in the car.
I guess I'll change the EVAP charcoal canister and the purge valve and NEVER tip it off again... So far so good.
But where are these two parts in the Bentley? I've looked in the "Engine" repair instructions "20" and also online shops and on different drawings, but cannot find either picture or SKU number.
Does anyone know where I can buy them and DIY?

Thanks

Sejfyr

Default First off...Call Carson at Riverside Audi for the best prices on the parts..(more)

Once you get the parts in it will be easier for you to locate as you will know what you are looking for. The purge valve on my c5 4.2 was near the firewall in the engine compartment on the passenger side. That is a pretty easy DIY job. The charcoal cannister is down by the gas tank kind of behind the right rear wheel. Probably need to remove right rear wheel and wheel well liner. I had my indy mechanic do this for me. While you are at it for the price you may as well order a new gas cap just in case it is not sealing very well due to age. Taking these three steps should definitely solve your problems....and remember....never top off again and this applies to ALL your cars.

If it's any consolation I also learned this the hard way. Good Luck

Default thats funny...the dealership told me..

it would take 3 hours to do the purge valve. I am glad I found this thread

I wish I knew how to do it myself. Don't have the bentley or anything, most likely not the right tools.

anyone got a write up?

Probably it is. But since the parts, the canister and the purge valve are more than $200 just in parts, I would make sure any vacuum lines are checked/changed first if DIY/ Indy. If sdealer does it, have them do the vacuumlines while in there. The purge valve is next to most of them. - just make sure they don't try to charge you for 3 hours ;-)

It's from our sister car VW, so some of the details may differ.
For those of you have already have changed it you may let us know how much it look alike.

Default Yup, checking the vac is important.

At first, I had a leak, which I corrected [loose hose, barely on there!] Then a bout a month later the purge valve went.
