When I put my short shifter in, I admit I was a little stressed. I didn't immediately gather how to make the adjustments and I was beating my head into the wall trying to figure our why I had messed up my perfectly good shifter. Well, it all worked out and I really didn't notice that much of a difference at the 40% setting. But I thought, I figured out how to put it in, I'm not taking it back out. Then today I was at the dealer and an S4 6 speed sat on the showroom floor. I thought I'd see how it fit. I shifted from first to second. I though I was going to have to put the shifter below the handbrake to get it to second! So in case you forget the difference, take the time to fell stock again and appreciate your short shifter all over.
