Not in my case. Mine goes between the lower center grille and the AC condenser.

Default Another reason I took mine out

The main reason was the fact that I blew up 5 MAF sensors with it installed.

Default Wow alot of stupid comments!

Thats all I have to say...I believe there are alot of people here who read stuff and don't actually do stuff! Go out and spend the measley $300 at Evoms and then your defective brains can actually hear the turbos and DV for yourselves! And as for "heat soak", give me a break! It still has the factory "intake runner" to supply outside air.

Default "It still has the factory "intake runner" to supply outside air." Gosh, I guess we should apologize.

Default Before you call stupid

show us some numbers if you're claiming a performance increase. Intake temps, MAF readings and ET performance before and after.

The "stock intake runner" delivers outside air to the intake. That's as cool as the air is going to get short of active cooling. You have now opened that intake system and exposed it to engine bay air. I'm willing to bet that engine bay air is warmer than outside air. (I could be wrong, just my SWAG)

You may or may not be allowing for less restrictive flow by replacing the stock airbox and filter but I believe any increase flow would be marginal and more than offset by the less dense air in the engine bay.

If you like the sound of your setup, fine. But we've been through this discussion many times over many years and no one has been able to show any performance gains.

I bought it for the sound...Evoms claims power gains(I can't), If someone wants to hook up a day of dyno, by all means we can see if my intake makes power....Is it worth arguing? I give my summary of the install and 1st drives and people just can't believe what they are reading! For those who don't think it changes the sound....For that you are dumb as rocks! Maybe if we try and add stuff to the archives, you wouldn't all have your information F-ed up! Yeeehaaaaw!
