The stock size on a 2.7t's/4.2's was I believe 2" maybe 2.25. I remember them looking skinny as all hell when I had em cut the stock exhaust out from the cats back.

LOL, nooooooo. Really? Hhahahah, Bro I get so sick of the exhaust in my car, so I understand the desire. Truly, I wish I had a switch that could turn it on and off. After 6+ years with whatever the hell I put on my car has been too much. Pull a lever and have the exhaust dump right out, put the lever back in place and have a full exhaust system quieting everything down. That would be kewl. Please let me know how it goes and what you end up doing with that idea.

gonna stick with manual caps. cheaper from the get go and not hard to reach even when car is on the groiund,.... iffy on electrics as ive had 2 buddys burn theirs out. talk about money down the drain, dual cutouts 58 installed.... dual electic cut outs, 450 installed. 
though i might skip that and just cut the muffler out (free!)
