Exhaust temperature sensor - How much to fix?

Exhaust temperature sensor - How much to fix?
The dealer tells me that my check engine light is showing because of a bad exhaust temperature sensor.
So my question is, how expensive should I expect that to be (parts and time)? Also, is this something I could replace myself? (BTW, I am a fairly competant home wrench, but I don't really have the patience right now to do it if I will have to pull a bunch of components to get at it).
Oh - it's a 2001 2.7T.
