Default Finally fixed my car...no more EPC light!!!!

Well I finally got the car up and running. It turns out that one of the two grounds that goes to the throttle pedal was shorted out. The wire for some reason was getting a positive charge of 1.670 volts from the ecu. So I ended up clipping the bad wire at the pedal connector and spliced in the good ground.
I cleared all the codes and ran adaption again and it now runs like a champ. I'm going to do some more work tomorrow to see why the bad wire has a positive charge...
Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions!

Default It's a great feeling to find a tough problem. Congrats! ECU uses a...

..."virtual ground" that is actually slightly positive. This way it can tell if an sensor is getting "ground" through the ECU or if the ground is shorted somewhere.

Default Here's the procedure for determining if the pedal wires are ok (inside)

With a multimeter connect the following wires with the key on and the connector off of the pedal, and write down the voltage(at the connector the wires are labled in the plastic on one side):
Connect wire 1 and a chassis ground
Connect wire 1 and 5
Connect wire 2 and ground
connect wire 2 and 3
All the readings must be above 4.5 volts.
Wires 1 and 2 are the positive charged wires.
Wires 3 and 5 are the negative charged wires.
wires 4 and 6 are the signal back to the ecu.

In my case wire 5 which was supposed to be a ground had a positive charge of 1.670 volts.
