Hoisted car today and inspected underbelly, hose directly aft of driver's turbo was caked with oil, so went through process of removing and inspecting. Found pool of oil in hose between left turbo and intercooler. Inspecting into turbo found it completely dry, so can i be safe to assume that the oil came from the old leak above, and worked its way into the system? After cleaning, and replacing car felt boostier (no guage). Perhaps I also had a small boost leak in that area as well, but now I returned it to a proper seal. I am undoubtedly going to replace all my boost hoses with Samco silicon during the KO4 upgrade.

hey there. I've had many turbo cars over the years and it isn't unusual for oil residue in the intercooler pipes and the intercooler itself. I've always did a yearly cleaning of the IC. A small amount of oil is passing through the seals. If it isn't smoking on sratup, acceleration of decelleration and you are getting strong boost (and it sounds normal), I wouldn't stress too much?

the reason there is more on driver's side is that is the side the PCV connects to on the Y-pipe.

good point that happens as well...and if the turbos are low mileage, a more probable cause actaully.
