Irish 4.2

After turning right from a stop light, I began to accelerate and must have been up to at least 40 MPH when a beagle decided to cut across the busy 4-lane road I was on. Evidently, master was calling given the dog's determination. Unlike some others around here, I hit the brakes hard to make sure I was stopped before the beagle got to my side of the road. I don't think I'll ever get used to the mechanical pulse and scraping sound a full-on ABS system makes, but the car stop straight, true, and fast with no drama whatsoever. The beagle was just outside my door when I came to a full stop. He juked right and went around the back of my car.

Nice brakes and body control. Much better than my 98' A4 2.8Q. I guess I was proven wise to pay extra and move up to the 2002 A6 4.2. Good thing the 4.2 V-8 allowed me to build some cushion between me and the car behind me so I didn't need to worry about him rear ending me, thus making me this week's "AW Wreck of the Week". Just love this car.
