They're not thermostat parts. The little black cap fits over a nut, which should be a 13mm size. The other metal parts look like a valve spring retainer and spring. Thermostat parts would end up in the waterpump impeller and get chewed up along with the water pump.

IMO, someone doing work on the car had the coolant cap off and those parts fell in, simple as that. There'e no way they could travel into the coolant tank via coolant circulation. The only way into the tank is from the coolant cap opening and that's how they're gonna come out.
