Default Friendly fun last night on street

A couple of friends and had some fun last night. They had a 2002 1.8T Jetta and a 2002 1.8T Passat. Both of them were chipped with this new Revo software. The Jetta also had a Supersprint exhaust and some other mods. Well we took off on the highway entrance in this order: Passat, me, Jetta. I never caught up to the Passat and Jetta was able to pass me from behind! Well we were only able to hit about 80, I'm pretty sure I could've given them some more comp at a higher speed. Anyways, I just told to wait until next week when I get my X chip in there!!

Sounds like it will be even better when you get X'd. Your car looks great, like the look.

Default Is someone going to redo some programming?

THe X-chip was not set up for the K04 turbo. Just wondering. I ran an X-chip with K04's. Ran OK but the boost levels were very high 1.48 spikes. its also going to run outta steam. Keeps running data logs and see what the levels are.

Default No reprogramming...

I thought that if the K03's can handle it than the K04's would be more reliable. Is that not the case?

Default its just that the air flow and such is different between the K03 and K04

YOu can run less boost with the K04 since they are more efficient than the k03.
You may wish to talk to Jeff Moss, or Bob at Stramosphere or AWE Tuning, or Josh(Achtuning), Marc (AMS). THey can let you know for sure what the differences are and how the k03 and k04 programs are different.
Dont get me wrong, you can run it, I have. Just dont know about the efficiency.
May be worth while talking to an expert.

Default Thanks for the advice

I'll ask the guys at Shine Racing what they think, they are the ones that will be installing it along with a TIP ECU chip. Anthony at Status up in NH recommended Dahlback, but that stuff is really expensive. I guess the have chips for the K04's.
