what is the correct Mintex part number.
My local parts guy found the recommended Mintex and they look like older A8 fitment, not the same as I have on at the moment.

Currently, TireRack is only offering the Hawk HPS Street. I have them on now, and I used them for a track session. No problems at all. They seem to have less cold "bite" than the EBCs, but they are quiet and seem to be no worse than stock on noise and dust.

I can get Mintex at cost but there seems to be a problem with their part listing for the HP2 caliper. They have a pad listed which sounds correct but the pad they put in the box is the same as the early A8's. They have a flange with two holes in just where the pressure clamp presses agianst the outer edge of the correct pads and a large roll-pin sticking out in the back of the outer pad - no good at all.

I don't have any other experience other than the stock pads. The Mintex have more bite than the stock and seem to modulate better. The stock wouldn't bite and then all of a sudden they would grab making smooth stops difficult. This was very sublte but none the less anoying. I haven't used them aggressivlly or on the track or A/B tested them against other pads. Just one sample but am happy with them. Used them on an ex Volvo with same result.
Cheers!

The Mintex we carry is MDB2120. These are in stock.
They are a good street pad and low dusting.
If you're looking for something more agressive, like suitable for a weekend track event or Autox, I'd recommend the Carbotech Bobcats. They're lower dusting and quieter than the Hawk HPS, yet still have excellent feel and bite.

Mintex
