I would put it in the Integra ever 5k and the Outback every 10k or so...definitely would run better...smoother at idle and accelerate more freely after a hundred or so miles with Techron in the tank.
I did it the first time with some skepticism...but it made me a believer. I have not noticed any big improvement with my 4.2...but I suspect that is because it is new and the injectors haven't gotten crapped up yet by this crappy gas...every 5k is my version of prevention. Some do it much more often...I use Chevron gas (almost always) so there is a little of this Techron stuff in there.

makes here on the west coast was because of the high sulfur content in the crude oil that the gasoline was made out of. Without the Techron or some other simular type additive the sulfur (black carbon deposits) builds up on the intake valves.
As a result of this build up when the injectors squirt fuel into the cylinders and over the valves the sulfur absorbs the fuel (until the sulfur build up is saturated with fuel) thus causing excessive cranking (hard starting) of the engine when cold starting.
The Techron in the gas or if you add it as an additive coats the valve and helps prevent the sulfur build up that causes the hard starting.
If the gas you use is not made from high sulfur content crude oil then there is really no reason for Techron.
