Seeing as I can't make VIR in Nov, I'm really gonna hate all these DE posts of yours. :/

Default Have you ever considered another car for the track besides the A6

I have the same car and have driven it on the track twice, it is just so darn heavy there are other cars that are much easier to drive on the track faster. Please don't take offense I love my Audi's for daily drivers but there are better cars for the track.

Default There are better track cars...but I drive the A6 daily, and the DEs teach me how to drive it. :)

Granted, it'd be nice to have a dedicated track car.

Default I think the thing that gets me about them is the weight it is so rough

on the brakes and suspension, really everything. There are daily drivers that are lighter and make better track cars. Quite honestly I don't think Audi really makes a good modern track car. Even the S4 is very portly. If you do a lot of DE's the 968 or 944 turbo is a good car so is the E36 M3, older 911's. For 25k you can get a Z06 Corvette that is a total blast on the track. I do a lot of DE's and almost never see Audi's driven by the regulars. Not to say they don't own them they just don't track them.

Default I am tempted to run the S6 on the track but I think I would put a BBK on it first

It feels very good on the country roads I drive at the limits but the brakes just don't get you stopped very quick. For the track it is the M3 for me.
