9:30 pm and I had to go to the store and a few other places. It was raining pretty hard. I am on a 4 lane suburban street going up hill from a light.
This teen in a new black trans am cuts me off as I am trying to make a lane change. he does not want to be following anyone I gues. So he sped up to make me move in behind him.
He then did the same thing again to me further down the road. Now I am a little po'd.
We come to a stop light, both the front cars. He is laughing and talking to his gal. they maybe were 19. I looked at him a smiled then shook my head laughing. He did the maucho rev rev thing of his motor. I just smiled and pointed at the light, and then gave him the thumbs up. he rev'd some more and said something to his gal.
Light turned, I launched hard. He tried to. When I hit second, he was way back still crossing the intersection, fighting hard to keep his car going straight and in his lane. I went 0 to 60, which was enough to prove my point to the kid.
Well needles to say, when we got to the next light, I was the one laughing and had the smile. he refused to look at me. he was just taught the traction lesson by our beloved QUATTRO.
I know he would waste me in dry conditions. But it was wet, and he was too cockey. Give me a 14 second car in any condition over a 13.3 second car in perfect conditions any day.
Man I love this car.

The 2.7T is quicker than 95% of the cars you run into on a typical day. At least in PA...

since they are totally fearless with testosterone making them brain dead.
When "provoked" like you I make my point at the light then I back off completely. No way I'm getting into a high speed race with a punk kid, especially if he's got a girl next to him. I was young once too. :-)

That 19 year old, or rather the 19 year old's parents, probably pay $3500 a year to insure their bundle of joy. I was the same way. Had a Formula 455 Firebird in 1972. Graudated, got married and ended up with a 1974 Pinto--an Orange one, no less. I went from burying everyone off the line to being dusted by school buses!

The kid rolled down his window and asked "what the hell is that thing?" All I said was "Hey, cute girlfriend.." and took off.
I agree though, young males in any car with testosterone pumping = trouble. Especially if they are asian.( I can say that since I am asian)
The craziest drivers I have ever seen have been in slammed hondas. Just don't want them pulling a gun on me or something because I beat them off the line.

Either they are all show and no go and I look like a fool blasting through the intersection all by myself OR........
They are heavily modified and I look like a fool still standing at the stoplight. You can't win! :-)
